Study English in Brighton and visit the Royal Pavilion<\/h5>\n

If you choose to study English in Brighton, you will get plenty of opportunities to explore the city and its places of interest and tourist attractions.<\/p>\n

Brighton, on the south coast of England, has many tourist attractions. There is the beautiful beach with its impressive sea views and fresh sea air, there is the Brighton Pier with it’s fun and entertainments, but probably the most interesting attraction is Brighton Pavilion, also known as The Royal Pavilion.<\/p>\n

The History<\/h5>\n

Prince George the Prince Regent (future king George IV) built the Pavilion at the end of the 1700s. This is\u00a0because his doctor told him he should get some fresh sea air for his health.<\/p>\n

The Pavilion building is in the centre of Brighton\u00a0and very near the beach.\u00a0It\u00a0was originally a farmhouse that the Prince Regent stayed at. By 1820, after various alterations, he eventually converted it into the Pavilion we can see today. He had\u00a0the help of the famous architect John Nash.<\/p>\n

The interior of the building has a Chinese Islamic and Indian theme. Items were transported from various countries to England.<\/p>\n

The Prince Regent’s Behaviour<\/h5>\n

The Prince Regent held many banquets for the rich and famous in his Pavilion.\u00a0Because of this,\u00a0the building became associated with indulgence and excess. The public of Brighton and the people of England started to call the Pavilion “George’s Pleasure Palace”.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the people of England started to hear about The Prince Regent’s lavish lifestyle. The stories\u00a0created anti-royal feelings around the nation.<\/p>\n

Brighton now owns the Pavilion\u00a0and it is is open to the public. Over a million people visit it every year from all over the world because they\u00a0are fascinated by the architecture, the decorations of\u00a0the interior and the history surrounding the building and the Prince Regent.<\/p>\n
