Work conditions
(Please check updated wage information)
The national minimum wage is an important cornerstone of Government Strategy aimed at providing employees with decent minimum standards and fairness in the workplace. It applies to all workers and sets hourly rates below which pay must not be allowed to fall. It helps business by ensuring companies will be able to compete on the basis of quality of the goods and services they provide and not on low prices based predominantly on low rates of pay. The rates set are based on the recommendations of the Independent Low Pay Commission
Deductions for accommodation, food, taxes, National Insurance and any other services supplied will be made from the gross wage.
The timetable and conditions of employment are agreed upon at the time of interview between the employer and employee
The wage offered remains at the entire discretion of the employer
If a dispute occurs about the work conditions, you should refer to your work placement representative to find an amicable solution for all parties involved
You are usually able to take a holiday during your course - please check with your representative and employer.
