The College has a strong reputation in Advertising. We have trained corporate employees (on day release) and students on our New Media courses with considerable success.
Many people think that advertising is just about companies announcing the launch of a product at a certain price and where it can be bought. Others think that advertising is an overhead, an additional cost on top of the costs of production. Neither of these beliefs is true.
Advertising encourages people to buy the products that they need and want. Marketing departments, with the help of advertising agencies, create brands that customers like and suit the demands of the customers and consumers.
If the advertising is successful and if the customers like the products, they will buy again and again.
Advertising is vital to economic development. Consumers and consumer demand keeps factories occupied producing and improving goods.
If advertising successfully generates a greater demand for particular goods, the goods can be made in bulk. Mass production means that goods are produced more economically, which lowers the unit cost of production (the cost of each item made) and keeps prices stable.
The demand for a distribution of products, encouraged by advertising, creates employment. Employment is also created in the service industries, which arise to meet the needs of the manufacturers. In turn, those in employment have money to buy goods or to pay for services such as those provided by restaurants of the financial services sector.
Our Advertising graduates go on to work for individuals, but mostly they are employed by organisations. They have found, that the mix of high quality training and tutoring from practitioners, who have ongoing Advertising commitments, has helped them achieve their goal of becoming an Advertising professional.
Our aim is to put theory in the real world, working on projects in a fun, fast-paced learning environment.
