To gain entrance into an English speaking university, have a competitive edge when applying for a job, enhance your career or move to a different country, you need an internationally recognised qualification. Certification will prove you have the necessary standard of English skills required by employers and universities.
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication. The appropriate IELTS score is now the standard requirement for entry to a UK university. IELTS training improves skills required for studying at University - it is really good practice for writing essays/taking notes during lectures and researching topics in libraries and/or online.
This course provides complete and careful preparation for all aspects of the academic module and includes:
Key facts
• placement test to ensure a class at the right level
• guidance and practice in all 4 areas of the exam
• regular progress checks
• regular homework
• a course book when you arrive (minimum 2 week course)
• regular tutorials with class teacher to give study advice (two every 10-14 week term)
• end of course certificate stating hours of study and final level
(Minimum attendance 80%)
N.B. Exam fees are not included in course fees. The current exam registration fee is approximately £120 for Brighton.
Most University courses require an IELTS score of 6.5 or above. Please contact your prospective university to check on the IELTS level needed. Exams are held locally 2 to 3 times every month in the summer and once a month at all other times.

The school is closed on public/bank holidays. You do not get any refund if there is a bank holiday during your course.
