I received the following message from Hungary this morning:
Dear Paul,
I’m writing this letter to let you know my IELTS results that I got to know a couple of hours ago. I did the IELTS test on 24 September in Budapest. My results: listening 8.5, reading 7.5, writing 7, speaking 7.5; overall: 7.5 I was very happy and relieved that I achieved the score I need. I’d like to thank you all your support and help, participating in your class in Brighton was a pleasure and a great experience.

Every Thursday evening from 17.00 – 18.00 Andy Sanford hosts the Exams Open Evening at Castle School. Come along and join us in Room 3 at 41 Dyke Road. It is a free event, open to all students and their friends to talk about exam issues (FCE, CAE and IELTS). It is a great opportunity to meet other students, ask questions and take part in some activities.
Come and talk to Andy to arrange a visit to our partner college and discuss the best course for you. If you take an Advanced Diploma for 2 years then your 3rd year you can go directly to University to complete your degree. Don’t miss this great opportunity to achieve your goals.

New ESVV makes life easier for international students
The UK’s Immigration Minister, Damian Green, has announced a new type of student visa which will hopefully make life easier for international students coming to study in the UK for up to 11 months.
The ESVV will only be available to students who want to study an English language course for between six and eleven months. The visa will be valid for 11 months. Students enrolling on other courses or English Plus courses will not qualify for the ESVV. Students will need to show that their course is longer than 6 months. The ESVV will cost £70 and will be available to students applying from 10 January 2011.
Non-visa nationals coming for more than 6 months will also be required to apply for this extended SVV before travelling to the UK as the visa will not be available on arrival in the UK.
The new rules do not affect EU and EEA students.
Students from non-visa national countries enrolled on a course of less than 6 months can still obtain the visa on arrival.
