If you prefer, you can stay with a host family / home stay and cook for yourself.
If you cook in Self-catering accommodation, you will need to buy your own food from shops in Brighton & Hove and cook it at home. The cheapest place to buy food is from one of the many supermarkets. The website www.mysupermarket.co.uk will give you an idea of the cost of food in these supermarkets.
The advantage of Self-catering is that you can eat what you want, when you want it. However, it is usually more expensive than if you stay half board with a host family / home stay, because the breakfast and dinner they provide is only £20 a week more than the cost of Self-catering accommodation.
We can also offer advice and guidance regarding living in self-catering accommodation, or sharing a flat with other students.
Here at Castle School, staff can offer students help on: Welfare & Counselling, Passports & Visas, Insurance & Personal Security, Health & Safety, University Placement Advice and Airport Transfer.
We are situated a stone's throw from the main Brighton Shopping Centre of Churchill Square and a mere 10 minutes walk from the train station.
